ABOUT

"I am dead certain that when the curtain goes up... and Drena sings the torch songs that made her character famous, time stops."

BIO

Belting it out since birth, Natasha has been singing showtunes for as long as she can remember. She auditioned for her first voice teacher by singing "Over the Rainbow" and spent the next 10 years studying every song in The Judy Garland Songbook and pouring over countless musical scores. Her love of music sent her packing to NYC, where she majored in Music & Theatre.

After years of traveling the globe as a professional singer and actor, Natasha found her roots deep in Georgia. A favorite in the Atlanta theatre scene, she has found a home in the amazing artistic community there. She resides in Savannah, where she was a founding member and the Artistic Director of the Summer Cabaret series at The Historic Lucas Theatre. Children and adults all over Savannah know her as MELODY, the host of the Musical Explorers Concerts through the Savannah Music Festival.

Always a dreamer with big ideas, she loves working with aspiring young artists to help them craft a career in the arts. She is the owner of the Actor's Group - Savannah and teaches Master Classes and workshops whenever she is in town. To find out more, email her via the contact page.

REVIEWS

Natasha Drena, who imbues the Garland mystique with the megawatt intensity of a supernova.

Natasha Drena is stage center throughout the play as Ms. Garland. She is one incredible actress and has pipes that will knock the walls down. I sat next to a couple of folks who had the experience of meeting and knowing Judy Garland; and they were so impressed that Natasha’s portrayal was so spot-on.
RJH – Atlanta Cultural Arts Review

Drena — an actress who has won Suzi Bass Awards for playing Judy Garland and Annie Oakley — transforms herself into the hissing witch that will sow seeds of destruction in book writer Lapine’s long, laborious fairy-tale mashup. Wrapped in a slender, slinky body envelope of a dress, with piles and piles of unruly hair and — best of all — a voice that is the epitome of wicked hauteur, she cuts a figure as regal as it is demented.
